How consumer’s choose contractors today….


It wasn’t so long ago professional remodeling contractors could attract consumer’s through some long tested vehicles. By simply writing a check to The Yellow Pages, putting a small ad in the local newspaper, and sending out some flyers, there was enough business generated to keep going year after year.

The consumer started behaving differently about 5 years ago and they have made dramatic changes in how they shop for contractors in the past 2 years. While advertising through different mediums remains important, it is far more relevant today to have developed an ‘on-line” brand and a neighborhood following. Information flows so quickly and freely today that remodeling contractors must have a well developed web site, social-networking strategy, local fan club, and local professional business networking affiliations to be anywhere near as effective as they were just a couple of years ago. Archadeck of Charlotte is engaged in Business Networking International (BNI), Business Leaders Network (BLN), the Better Business Bureau (BBB), Angie’s List, and the National Association of Remodelers (NARI) all to help facilitate the way consumer’s want to find professional remodelers.
